Wake Up ~ Byakuya x Reader pt 2

                  "Are you sure? I don't want to intrude or any-" "Really, it's fine... If this place helps you sleep, then you are welcome to rest here," He says. You lay back, to tired to try to protest. Seeing your exhaustion he turns away, "Rest well, ___," He says before walking away. You settle back and close your eyes, instantly falling asleep.

                  You woke before dawn, feeling something shift over you, you sit up. The blanket fell away. You blink, folding it up. "Oh, you're up," A female voice comments, making you jump and look over. "Brother sent me to invite you to breakfast," The dark haired girl tells you, gently taking the blanket. She pauses, blinking at the blanket, slight surprise going through her eyes. "Brother's blanket," She murmurs. You shift, "You're, Rukia right?" You guess, getting to your feet. She nods, "You must be ___, Renji mentioned you before," She replies. She leads you into the large manor. Uneasiness falls onto your shoulders, being from the most dangerous and poverty plagued part of the Rukon district, you were wary to be in this large and unfamiliar place.

                     "Relax, it's not like my brother is gonna bite you," She says, catching you looking around warily. "Are you sure?" You question, trying to make a joke. She stifles a laugh, "Mostly," she replies. You relax, seeing she was friendly. She leads you into another large room, which was the dining room. You became uneasy again, a sheepish smile plastered itself on your lips. "Um... Are you okay?" Rukia asks, looking up at you. "I'm f-fine," You manage. Your eyes focus on the door just as Byakuya walks in.

                      "Good morning ___," He greets. "Morning boss," You tell him. He blinks at your highly uncomfortable posture. "Relax ___," He says, touching your shoulder briefly before he and Rukia sit down at the table. You follow their example and sit down, trying hard to stay calm your nerves. Servants come in with food, setting it down in front of each of you. One catches your eye, as you catch his. He blinks and grin breaks across his face as you raise an eyebrow at the silver haired servant.

                          "Tonkin? Is that you?" You huff. "___! It's been a while!" He says cheerfully. "You two know eachother?" Rukia asks. You nod, "Yes! ___ used to-mmf!" Tonkin is cut off as you shove a biscuit into his mouth. "Not in front of my captain," You hiss in his ear. He pales, nodding and swiftly backing out of the room. With that you start eating, ignoring the questioning looks the Kuchiki gives you.

                            "Yelp, thanks for the meal, but I've got things to do before cap- Nevermind," You say, getting to your feet. "Hold on, I'm almost finished as well," Byakuya tells you. "But-" The look he gives you cuts off your protest. "Alright," You grumble, sitting down. Rukia giggles beside you. "What are you laughing about?" You ask her warily. "Sorry... Its nothing," She says, restraining her giggling. You nudge her, "That's alright Rukia, I'll find out soon enough," You chuckle. She blinks, "You're surprisingly intimidating ___," She comments.

                              "Eh? I don't know what you're talking about, if anyone is intimidating here it's him," You say, pointing at Byakuya. He finishes eating, ignoring your comment.  "Lets head out now," He murmurs, getting to his feet. "Right, I hope we can talk sometime Rukia," You tell the raven haired girl as you get back to your feet. "I would like that," She says, giving you a smile. "Then I'll see you later," You chuckle before following Byakuya out the room. You look around the long forking halls.

                               "Its a good thing you told me to wait... I would've gotten lost in this place..." You admit. He glances over at you. "You're not used to large places are you?" He guesses. "Not at all... I don't really like places where I can't see the sky," You reply, throwing a frown up at the ceiling. "So I see..." He murmurs. You finally got out of the manor and relish the cool breeze that rushed to greet you. "Alright, see you at the barracks captain~" You tell him before flash stepping to squad six. "Ah! Third seat ___, I was just bringing your captain some files to go through," Rangiku greets. "Thanks, I'll take them for ya," You tell her, taking the stack.

                                 "Alright, I'll see you later," She says just before you go into the office. You set half on Byakuya's desk before setting the other half on Renji's desk, before starting to work on them. By the time Byakuya came in you were already setting your finished stack on his desk. He blinks at you as you turn to him. "I'm going to see if the other squads have paperwork for you," You tell him, starting to head out. "Alright," He says.

                                  You went through all the squads, stopping briefly to spar with Ikkaku in squad eleven. You got back to Byakuya's office, with a few scratches. He lifts his eyes as you come over to his desk and set it down. "Did you fall on your way back?" He asks, glancing at the tear in your kimono. "No, I got challenged in the eleventh division by their third seat," You answer, taking half of the stack to Renji's desk. "Did you win?" He questions. "Yeps, I'm much quicker than that cueball," You say cheerfully, swiftly going through your papers.

                                     "You're energetic today," He comments, glancing at you. "I slept great last night," You reply. He doesn't respond, but you sense him nod. Soon you are done with your stack and take it to his desk. "There, do you want me to do anything else?" You ask. He glances at the finished stack, then at his small stack. "This is good, thank you for your help," He replies. You grin, "Anytime boss, I'll stop bye later," You tell him before heading out. You head to the market place, buying some loafs of bread you head for the slums. "Hey! I'm back!" You call.

                  Children burst into the ally, rushing you. "___-nee!" They call as you stoop down to receive their hugs. "Here, I brought you guys bread, you still have that supply of water right?" You ask them, handing them the bags. "We sure do! Thank you!" They say cheerfully. "How is squad six?" "Ooh I heard that captain Kuchiki is really handsome!" The girls in the group began to bombard you with questions about Byakuya. "Girls, calm down!.... I can't answer your questions, but I'll tell you this... Captain Kuchiki is a great, caring man," You tell them. They swoon, "Nee-Chan is so lucky to work so close to Captain Kuchiki!" They cheer.

                     You chuckle, rubbing your neck. "Alright, I'm going to head back, take care of eachother," You tell them, straightening up. "Bye Nee-chan! Be sure to give your captain a ki-" "Kora!" You scold the little girl, blushing lightly. She giggles and runs after the others. "Bad girl," You scoff, shaking your head. You start for the Seireitei again. A familiar shape catches your eye, "Boss? What are you doing out here?" You ask.

                      "I was taking a walk, what are you doing out here?" He replies. You shift, "Well I-" "Nee-chan!" Someone crashes into you, making you stagger. "Taka, I just saw the others, you should go before they eat everything!" You tell the young boy. "Alright! Come visit me again soon!" He says cheerfully before darting for the slums. You glance back at Byakuya, "Um... I was just visiting," You finish what you were saying earlier. He nods, "Are you heading back now?" he asks.

                        "Yeah," You confirm. "Would you like to come with me to greet Renji upon his return?" He asks. You light up at that, "Pineapple's coming back? Finally!" You chime, smiling cheerfully. "Did you miss him?" Byakuya inquires. "Well, he is my sparing partner," You tell him. The both of you reach portal doors. It eventually opens up and a hell butterfly flies at your face. "Gah! Help!" You gasp, staggering back wards. Byakuya calmly reaches over and catches the butterfly. "It's only a hell butterfly," he points out. You scoff and look over as Renji appears.

                           "Captain? ____? Did you-" "PINEAPPLE!" You cheer, running over and giving him a bear hug. "Kuh! I missed you too ___!" He coughs. "How was the world of the living?" Byakuya asks. "It went well, I was able to take care of the copycat," Renji answers when you let him go. "Good, you may take the day off after you finish your report," Byakuya tells him. "Yessir... By the way, what are you doing meeting me here, I thought you'd still be doing paperwork when I got back," Renji says in slight confusion.

                             "Our reliable third seat made it so that I can meet you here," Byakuya comments. "Aw, I'm not that great," You scoff, cheeks turning red, scratching your cheek sheepishly. "Glad to know that you weren't affected by my absence that much," Renji says. "That's not entirely true," Byakuya murmurs. You follow them out, "So pineapple, did you miss me?" You tease. He grabs you by the ear, "That's Lieutenant Abarai to you! Insubordinate fool!" He snaps. "Ouch! What are you-" "It's time to do the chores ____!" He snarls, dragging you away. "Lieutenant Renji! I'm soorrrry~" You protest.
