Listen~ ??? X Reader pt1

 

    “So today at school we…” You try to catch your mom’s attention, but you don’t receive it. Your voice falls again today and you sit back, looking out the car window instead.
       A rotten day, no one seemed to care to listen to anything you had to say. You tripped so many times, you were aware of the bruises throbbing under your jeans. Your homework had somehow found a puddle on this sunny day- which your teacher wouldn’t take. You just needed something to make you feel better.
       The ride home was silent, and it allowed your mind to wander to dark places. Once home you go to your room, tossing off your clothes in exchange for something more comfy, you sit down on your bed, pulling on your headset and turning on the console. A quiet sigh leaves you as you log into a game server and try to relax.
         The small home you had built in it appears and a small smile comes to your lips. “Hey Daydream,” A rumble sounds in your headset.
          “Hey Mochi,” You breathe, getting immersed into the game the moment you heard his voice.
           Leaving the house you spot the man approaching, he liked to wear black leather clothes and a scarf- although you’ve told him a few times that the clothes were weak against physical attacks.
          “There’s a boss fight in the valley, if we start there now we’ll show up when it does. You up for it?” He asks.
           “Sure…” You breathe, checking your inventory to make sure you were prepared for such a fight. “Lead the way.” You add when he doesn’t move. With that, you start off together.
           “How was your day?” He inquires. You pause briefly, watching his back for a moment.
           “It was alright.” You lie, not wishing to bore him.
           “We’ve been playing together for a year, I know the difference between your ‘meh' alright and ‘I hate today' alright.” He says pointedly. You press your lips together, mind going back over the day. “So talk to me.” He adds, making tears rise to your eyes briefly.
          “Okay…” You manage before telling him about it as you both start down a forest path. He was silent, and you hoped he was actually listening. After you finish, you start to feel your heart sink when he doesn’t respond right away.
          “I feel you should start wearing leg guards. And one homework assignment isn’t going to tank your grade, so don’t let that get to you… I’m sorry you had a bad day, if it helps at all, I found something on here you might like.” He hums before a gift appears in your inventory. You raise an eyebrow before looking at Mochi's gift.
         “Aw…. That’s the cutest helmet! And the stats are great…. Thanks Mochi… I’m glad you’re here today.” You smile, equipping the helmet.
        “I knew you’d like it... We have company.” He says just as movement catches your eye and you look over as a familiar trio comes into view.
         “Aren’t those our neighbors?” You ask. Before he can respond they spot you and approach.
          “Hey!” KnightKing greets cheerfully.
          “BoSSSSS FigHT?” A static voice makes you wince.
           “BlueDragon, lower your mic.” You suggest.
            “We didn’t think of that one…” FireFreckles admits.
           “It’s alright, some are sensitive.” You hum.
            “Is that better?” BlueDragon asks.
            “Yeah,” You and the other three respond.
            “So, boss fight?” BlueDragon inquires.
            “Yes,” Mochi answers.
            “We should make a party! We’ll get more loot!” KnightKing gasps.    
            “Hmm… Mochi?” You hum to your partner.
            “More loot sounds good.” He says and you both receive a party invite. “Alright, hurry, we’re going to be late.” He adds, moving ahead briskly, you follow after him with a smile.
            “Cool helmet DayDream!” KnightKing adds, moving beside you.
             “Thanks, Mochi gave it to me.” You hum happily with a bounce.
             “That’s cool, a rare item like that is hard to find.” BlueDragon comments. You just smile as the battlefield comes into view, other players already gathering around under a black and purple vortex.
           “I wonder who we’re fighting today.” FireFreckles wonders. A pulse leaves the vortex and you pause as the large black armored knight drops down onto the battlefield.
           “Ah shit… Its GoldenEye…” You breathe.
          “Alright, I estimate we’ll die maybe five times?” Mochi comments.
          “Maybe, lets start!” Your duel axes materialize and you rush forward. It was chaos as you avoid other players as they all took shots at the boss. Mochi stays back, since he’s a ranged fighter.
          “DayDream, he’s about to do a pulser.” Mochi alerts. You blink and swiftly dash out of the blast zone, still getting knocked down by it. You quickly rush the boss again, peering at his health bar.
          “We’re not even making a dent on him today!” You huff.
          “DayDream!” BlueDragon calls out and you look up in time for the boss to strike down on you.
          “Son of a…” You sigh as your screen goes black briefly. “Why does it always feel like this always happens to me.” You respond near by, running back to the fight swiftly.  
          “I did see him lock on you…” FireFreckles says.
          “Damn, he’s increasing his speed.” Mochi sighs as you spot the fight again.  A black cloak zooms by and you blink.
          “DeathShadow just ran past me!” You gasp.
          “OUTTA THE WAY NEWBS!” A voice sounds over the server.
          “And BloodRobot is here…” Mochi sighs.
          “Shit, they’ll get the prizes!” KnightKing says.  
          “Forget them! Lets link attacks!” You growl, reaching the boss fight again.
          “Got it.” They say together, and the team hits the boss with a powerful attack. You smirk again, glancing at the boss’s health bar.
          “Finally making progress.” Mochi breathes. The assault lasts for about ten minutes,  and when the battle is over, you frown at the rewards.
          “Hey Blue, you want the dragon sword I just got?” You ask.
          “Sure, I got a Nymph Book if anyone wants it.” He offers.
          “I do need to learn another heal spell…” You murmur. You exchange items at that and you pause when you receive a gift. “Hm?” You blink, opening it and gasp.
         “Get something good?” Mochi guesses.
         “DeathShadow just sent me an axe that matches my helmet! It has a fire stone in it!” You whisper.
          “Senpai noticed you.” FireFreckles chuckles.
          “Mochi always notices me…” You murmur in slight confusion.
          “Awww….” Blue Dragon comments.
         “Shishishi! You two make a good team! Oh hey! Are you guys going to get that new World of D? We should make a clan on it!” KnightKing gushes.
         “I am… Are you Mochi?” You inquire.  
          “I am, sounds good,  when it releases we’ll make a group message.” He decides.
          “Alright! Well, we’re switching over to a war game now, so see you later!” KnightKing chimes before they leave, cancelling the party. You watch them go before looking to Mochi.  
          “So, what else?” You ask, starting to smirk.
          “…. Want to go troll them?”
          “I knew you were going to say that, lets go.”

Pt2:
Listen pt2~ A Good Day
 
      “He’s coming up on the west side of the building you’re in.” Mochi alerts you. Looking over, you toss a grenade in the doorway. Another player appears just as it explodes, killing the other instantly.
          “Bam. Got em.” You smirk before rushing out quickly,  checking over at the tower he was at.
          “Found the trio. Three buildings ahead of you, second floor.” He says. You snicker, pulling out more grenades and sneaking to the indicated building, tossing them into the windows. You smirk as you see ‘triple kill!’ on your screen immediately after the explosion.
            “Hehe, got em.” You giggle, quickly falling back.
