Champion pt2

        “What an ugly little doll…” Nami says looking at Kid.
        “He’s precious.” You huff. She gives you a look at that.
         “You have such weird taste ___.” She shakes her head. You hug Kid to your chest, puffing your cheeks at your friend in response. “You do. I mean hell, you even turned down Ace.” She places a hand on her hip, still unable to believe it still.
         “Ace is sweet and all but…” You shrug. “Maybe I prefer red heads.”
         “Redheads…. Like Mr. Shanks?” Her eyebrows shoot up.
         “…. He is handsome…. B-But I didn’t mean him!!” You gasp swiftly with a blush.
        “Well, I don’t know any other redheads, do you?” Nami inquires. You shift and look at the sky.
        “I dreamt about one last night… Maybe I’ll meet him soon?” You hum thoughtfully.
        “I guess only you can be content with dreaming about your guy.” She shrugs. You just chuckle sheepishly.
        “I guess…” You hum, “Let’s get to class.”

         Walking home that day, you found yourself distracted. “Hey little miss, how about we walk you home?” A hand comes over your shoulder and you freeze, looking over at the man and his two friends. A chill of unease goes down your spine and you swiftly dash forward.
         “No no….” You whisper panicked, glancing around. Where were you again? You cut to a different street, getting tackled to the ground, Kid tumbling from your grasp.
        “Where ya going cutie?” The man growls as the other two snicker. You kick the man in the groin and try to get away but one of the others kick you in the face. Your head snaps to the side, eyes locking on Kid. The oddest thing comes to your mind and you recall the note.
         Not sure why you said it, or if you even believed something would happened but… “Wake up, my champion…” You breathe. There’s a flash and you close your eyes instinctively, feeling the weight of the man’s foot disappear from your chest.
         “Weaklings. Targeting in packs… I’ll slaughter you.” A growl sounds and your eyes open, sliding to a man in black armor as he draws a huge greatsword from his back. You blink in awe, glancing over to find your plushie gone.
         “Kid…” You mutter looking back at the red haired man as the three thugs run away in panic.
        “Oh no you don’t!” The armored man growls slashing out with the sword. The slash connects with their backs, blood spilling out as they shout in surprise and pain, continuing to run. The armored man moves to follow after them.
        “W-Wait!” You gasp. He stops and turns to you with hard amber eyes.
        “You really going to let them get away with that?” He questions. You flinch and shift slightly.
        “I-I don’t want you to kill them Kid…” You look down, feeling his eyes pierce you briefly.
        “Eh…. Fine, it’s nice to finally be this size again.” He rolls his shoulders looking away. You blink and look at him.
         “It really is you.” You breathe. He glances at you and folds his arms.
          “What were you expecting when you said that?” He huffs.
          “Not this… But thanks.” You say awkwardly.
          “Come on, you took a wrong turn back there.” He says leading the way. You swiftly move to his side, peering up at him. His hair seemed even more vibrant now. Actually… He looked like the man from your dream. He ignores your curious gaze as he peers around.
          “Um… Mr. Kid, have you been conscious this whole time?” You ask curiously. He was silent for a moment, glancing at you.
          “Not really,” He responds, shrugging slightly. “So… What do I call you?”
          “Oh, I’m ___, it’s nice to meet you.” You offer a smile.
          “Kid…. Its uh… Okay to meet you.” He mutters. You rub your neck and look down, well, the paper did say he was cold.
          “I’m dreaming again aren’t I? When I wake up again you’ll be gone…” You guess. He pauses and looks over at you as you start to fall over.
          “O-Oi!” He gasps reaching for you as everything goes black.
